Two doctors. One ride. One continent.
Our Journey
From Perth WA to Sydney NSW
The Modern Overlanders is a long-distance endurance project built around challenge, storytelling, and purpose.
Inspired by Australia’s original overlanders who crossed vast, unforgiving landscapes with limited support this is a modern take on that same spirit.
Different tools. Same intent.
WHO WE ARE
Dr Arjun Shah and Dr Quinten Willemse spend their days caring for others on the Central Coast of NSW listening, diagnosing, guiding people back to health. But beyond the clinic walls, there’s another side to their story.
Both are drawn to endurance. To long distances, discomfort, and the quiet mental battles that come with pushing past limits. What started as a shared interest in sport evolved into something deeper a mutual respect for resilience, discipline, and the idea that growth rarely happens inside comfort.
This project is where those two worlds meet.
It’s not just about medicine, and it’s not just about sport. It’s about applying the mindset of both understanding the body, challenging the mind, and stepping into something real, uncertain, and demanding.
Because sometimes, the best way to understand resilience… is to live it.
WHY WE’RE DOING THIS
We believe challenge creates clarity.
Stepping away from routine and into something physically and mentally demanding gives perspective and creates an opportunity to contribute to something beyond ourselves.
LOOKING AHEAD
