Our Missions

Each journey under The Modern Overlanders is designed to push limits, tell stories, and support meaningful causes.

THE CHALLENGE

This is a test of endurance in its purest form.

  • 120 – 180 km daily
  • Minimal margin for error
  • Changing conditions, isolation, and fatigue

It’s not about speed.

It’s about showing up every day.

THE ROUTE

Starting in Perth, Western Australia, we will ride east across one of the most remote and iconic stretches of road in the world — the vast Nullarbor Plain. From endless open highways and rugged coastlines to isolated roadhouses and desert landscapes, this journey is as much about resilience and perspective as it is about distance.

From there, the route continues through South Australia and into New South Wales, crossing regional towns, farming communities, changing climates, and thousands of kilometres of Australian landscape before finally arriving on the Central Coast.

Every day will bring new terrain, unpredictable conditions, physical fatigue, and long hours in the saddle. But it will also bring conversations, storytelling, and the chance to connect with incredible people and communities along the way — something we believe will become one of the most meaningful parts of the entire journey.

This is not simply a cycling challenge.
It is two ordinary GPs attempting something extraordinary — one pedal stroke at a time.

A single line across a continent.
Driven by purpose, endurance, community, and the belief that meaningful conversations can travel far beyond the road itself.

WHY THIS RIDE MATTERS

We’re using this journey to raise awareness and support causes aligned with health, resilience, and community.

We’re raising awareness and funds for two amazing charities –  the Humpty Dumpty Foundation and the Debbie Gaunt Foundation.
